About The Art Piece

This work illustrates what it was like to be on a bomber field in 1944, depicting the 15th Air Force in Italy after a tough mission. Weary flight crews drag their flight bags; officers are quickly debriefed while the flight engineer discusses damage to the number three engine with the ground crew. The aircraft pictured, Paper Doll and Reluctant Liz, were both later lost in raids over Romania.
