Photographer's Narrative

When I was stationed at Joint Base Andrews one of our missions was to document Air Force funerals at Arlington Cemetery. I had the honor to document the funeral for Maj. Gen. Frederick "Boots" Blesse, the sixth-ranking U.S. jet ace and one of the world's premier jet tacticians. After folding the flag, F-15E Strike Eagles performed the “Missing Man” formation over Arlington.
