Although our families can share in the memory and revel in the moment, only those who have ever crossed the parade field following graduation of Air Force basic training truly understand that moment that will forever be etched into their being. I remember the day I graduated. My dad rushed to me, hugging me as tight as he could, while my sister cried in my arms. Nearly a decade later, it is now Airman Jose Hernandez who joins those few who comprehend that pivotal, life-changing moment of graduating from basic military training captured in this single frame.
