Photographer's Narrative

Red Ramos, a retired Marine and below-the-knee amputee, was taking practice laps in the Olympic pool at the Aquatics Center in London.I went below the pool level to see under water and captured him swimming across the pool with only his torso and legs showing. I wanted to emphasize how he’s still going and his amputation is  not keeping him back.
