A little about Me

Tech Sgt. Christiansen joined the Air Force in 2000 as a Security Forces Defender, starting out his ca-reer at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom before heading to Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. In 2004, during a deployment to Kirkuk in support Operation Iraqi Freedom, he sustained injuries following a munitions explosion following a rocket attack. At one point, a secondary blast threw him into a vehicle, fracturing his lower back. Despite his injury he has remained on Active Duty, with his long-range goals to retire in 3 years and start his own woodworking business. He said his involvement in the AFW2 Adaptive & Rehabilitative Sports Program gave him a sense of focus, allowing him to look for positive activities instead of focusing on his injuries. Sgt. Christiansen said, “To be able to represent the Air Force amongst the finest military athletes and friends humbles me to know I am surrounded by heroes; I am glad to be a part of such a strong force.”
