A little about Me

Master Sgt. Linn Knight joined the Air Force in 2004 as an Medical Laboratory technician, retraining into Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) in 2009. Shortly after retraining she volunteered to deploy to Aghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where she was instrumental in expanding the EOD footprint in the region. Sgt. Knight helped build a 24,000 square foot compound, relocating 7 teams along with equipment and storage facilities, enhancing mission effectiveness. She took charge following an IED attack, clearing a path to an injured service member, performing combat life-saving techniques that saved the wounded man’s life. In 2013 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was treated at the Airman Medical Transition Unit (AMTU) at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. She said, “The AMTU and the Air Force Wounded Warrior Program (AFW2) together made sure that I had the resources to recover in a way that best suited my needs and that best set me up for suc-cess once I returned to duty. Representing the Air Force at this year’s Warrior Games means I can tangibly express my appreciation for all that my service has done for me.”
