A little about Me

Retired Staff Sgt. Ed Love joined the Air Force in 2002 as a Materiel Management technician. His best memory of his career was his deployment to Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan in 2011-2012. Ed was part of a Joint Expeditionary Tasking in support of U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force EOD technicians involved in operations in Helmand Province. He and his team took care of EOD equipment and assisted with outside-the-wire operations between Leatherneck and Camp Stone, including route clearing and planned explosions. An interesting part of the story is that Ed met his wife, Master Sgt. Tracy Love, while training at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. Both he and Tracy were deployed to Camp Leatherneck together where they further cemented their relationship, going on to marry a couple of months following their return. He said, “AFW2 has reminded me that I am not worthless. They have shown me that I am still part of the Air Force team.”
