Photographer's Narrative

 

When I took this photograph I had been a photographer for about a year. I saw the hose completely replace the firefighter’s head and it made me feel as if he was carrying the weight of the world. Taking it made me realize that not showing elements within a scene can say more about the scene than showing them. I wouldn’t have seen that if I had been on the other side of the subject.
