Photographer's Narrative

I like photographing events attended by members of Operation Enduring Warrior. They are a veteran operated non-profit organization whose mission is to honor, empower, and motivate wounded service members. They make it possible for wounded warriors to work towards independence. Edward Lychik is a wounded warrior with the group.  While deployed in Afghanistan a rocket hit his vehicle making him a hip amputee. Before his injury he loved to run and after his injuries doctors told him that he would never run again. Not only does he run but also he participates in events like this. While running this race I watched crowds stop and applaud him. Edward showed me the power of resiliency and the belief that there is no justification for using excuses.
