Photographer's Narrative

This was my first outside-the-wire experience when I was deployed to Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan while patrolling the perimeter. We walked a little over two miles to a nearby village, boots covered in mud, thought the security forces members were taking a break. When I realized they were surveying the area, I grabbed my camera and went in front of Senior Airman Christopher Yellig intensely scanning his area of responsibility.
