Photographer's Narrative

While covering the funeral for Army Air Forces Sgt. Charles A. Gardner in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia my team and I were quite a distance away from the funeral. My longest lens was a 70-200, so even zoomed in all the way it was still a wide image. So I tried to find something that would help me focus on what was happening and I found a tree with small gaps between its branches. I proceeded to use it as framing and focus it around the casket. The moment I chose to use was Army Command Sergeant Major Michael Callaghan-Mccann saluting the flag as the overhang caused an intense shadow over his face.
