Special Tactics Airmen descend onto Spectre Island during a Monster Mash training event, June 11, 2015, at Eglin Range, Fla. Monster Mash is a long-standing special tactics training tradition, consisting of an obstacle course where special operators complete timed scenarios at different stations of core mission training. The scenario called for Airmen to jump into a simulated hostile territory to conduct a combat search and rescue on downed personnel. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Ryan Conroy/Released)

Photographer's Narrative

This was one of my favorite shoots while at Hurlburt Field. Whenever I get a chance to photograph the special tactics mission, I get excited because of the opportunities it brings. For instance, this was shot during a competitive training scenario. Special tactics jumped from an MC-130 into the gulf and swam to shore to ruck, run, call in air drops and evacuate simulated downed personnel.
