A little about Me
Q. What are your short and long term goals (personal, professional, recovery-related, etc.)?
A. Short term- training for triathlons and duathlons- personally, just be the best dad I can be for my 5 year old daughter and one year old son and be the best Airman for my country. I will build on my athletic and competitive strengths for a strong future. Long term, I will complete all lengths of all triathlon races from sprints, Olympic, half and full, and full distance. I want to inspire others through my passion of multi-sport training and competition. I want to stay active duty Air Force as long as feasible for my family and me.
Q. What does it mean to you to represent the Air force at Warrior Games?
A. Extremely humbling and proud at the same time. Wearing blue helps remind me of all the Airman and Soldiers that I was next to on the battlefield, and that we are representing them as well.
Q. What is the significance of sports/competition? How has it helped you? What does it mean to you?
A. The significance of the competition- I can see everybody else’s spirit, especially those that don’t have their air force family anymore, it gives them a chance to compete again. The sport just makes it fun.
Q. What advice do you have for future athletes?
A. If you want your best on competition day you have to know that you are your biggest competitor.
Q. Who has supported you in your training? How?
A. My wife has played a huge role in supporting me and letting me train many hours during the week. She always makes sure that I’m well fed and lets me know if I’m training too much.
