A little about Me

Q. What are your short and long term goals (personal, professional, recovery-related, etc.)?
A. Short-Term, get memory back. Be a better person at realizing catching and fixing memory loss. Would like to get back to working full-time. Long-term, want to be the primary provider in the family. Getting back to 100%.

Q. How did your Service’s Wounded Warrior Program (Warrior Transition Unit, Wounded Warrior Regiment, Other Service Wounded Warrior Unit) assigned or previously assigned to enhance your recovery?
A. Did not know about the program. But it wasn’t until the RCC told me. After attending the camp, it changed my attitude about life and family. It help myself and wife see the positivity fort dealing with my issues, It did a complete 180 degrees in my life.

Q. What is the significance of sports/competition? How has it helped you? What does it mean to you?
A. Playing sports all my life. That’s what I did. Being able to compete in these sports means I am on the road to recovery.

Q. What advice do you have for future athletes?
A. Never give up. Know there is always someone there, There are many people here to help you.

Q. How has adaptive reconditioning and sports helped in your transition and recovery? What adaptive reconditioning activities do you participate in?
A. Teamwork has helped with the camaraderie. Last year I didn’t want to get in the pool and now I get in and have a blast. You see a different side of you and everyone else. You get treated better than anywhere else I can think of. Cycling, Shooting and Basketball.
