A little about Me

Q. Describe your illness or injury:
A. PTSD, neck injury from combat in 2008. Lower back and hip was stateside trauma in 2012

Q. How did your Service’s Wounded Warrior Program (Warrior Transition Unit, Wounded Warrior Regiment, Other Service Wounded Warrior Unit) assigned or previously assigned to enhance your recovery?
A. Gave me hope and a purpose to be with the warrior family. Gave me back my Air Force identity and confidence to try new things and not give up on living.

Q. What is the significance of sports/competition? How has it helped you? What does it mean to you?
A. Extremely humbled, honored that AFW2 see more in me than I see in me at this time. It is encouraging me to push harder and stronger to achieve a dream. I am happy to be back in my AF family again and honored to represent them at the WG.

Q. What advice do you have for future athletes?
A. Do not doubt yourself in any sport until you try it with the AWF2 Coaches and warriors. Do not give up; there is a future out there for us we just need to find it together. AFW2 is a tight family and we always take care of each other.

Q. How has adaptive reconditioning and sports helped in your transition and recovery? What adaptive reconditioning activities do you participate in?
A. Got me off the couch and stopped me from hiding in my home 24/7. Feel better about abilities, new future and myself for me. Given me the strong desire to be a mentor and help other warriors to live and a new sense of identity.
