U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft take off from Joint Base Charleston - Air Base, S.C., during a large formation exercise April 10, 2013. Thirteen C-17s flew during the exercise, which included airdrops, aerial refueling and low-level tactical training. The LFE is a total-force effort with aircrews consisting of active-duty Airmen from the 437th Airlift Wing and Reservists from the 315th AW, and is the first such exercise performed since 2010. Photographers Narrative

This training exercise was interesting to me because it all happened so fast. During the time of sequestration, the flying squadron and its counterparts had to set a training record by completing all airdrops in a single swoop. Sitting over North Field in South Carolina and watching this huge wave of aircraft approach seemed as if it was straight out of a movie. With the limited turnaround time and the success of training, it reaffirmed that no matter what challenge the Air Force is faced with, it will overcome and succeed.
