Captain Dave Paland (left) and Canadian Captain Ryan Peters, both 772d Expeditionary Airlift Squadron C-130J pilots, land their "Super Hercules" aircraft at Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan, January 6, 2010. The routine channel mission took one entire 12-hour shift, including almost five hours of flight time, six takeoffs and six landings, in order to deliver passengers and cargo to various locations throughout the country. Photographers Narrative

This photo was taken during a typical mission providing air transportation to U.S. and coalition service members to various locations in Afghanistan. This is one of my favorite images from the mission. It looked and seemed like these pilots effortlessly moved at the speed of light.
