Graduates pass in review during the Basic Military Training graduation ceremony July 29, 2011, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Air Force BMT is 8-plus weeks long and more than 35,000 Airmen graduate each year. Following graduation, Airmen go on to technical training before their first Air Force assignment.  More than 7 million Airmen have completed BMT since 1946. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. This photo was taken during the Air Force Basic Military Training graduation ceremony. This early in their Air Force career the Airmen are so focused on perfecting their marching and uniformity.  I wanted to show this as visually interestingly as possible. I also used the sky as the background to illustrate “into the wild blue wonder” to give it a more Air Force feel.
